Delhi Metro’s Plan to Keep Our City Clean During Phase IV
Good News for Delhi! Your Metro is Fighting Pollution 🚇
Hello, Delhi residents! We are all excited to see our city’s Metro network growing with Phase IV. New construction is always messy, but it promises an amazing future for us all! It means less traffic and faster travel.
To make sure this growth is safe and lasting, construction must be top quality. Just as the Delhi Metro works hard to prevent pollution, every builder must choose the best materials to prevent issues like illegal or unsafe construction. Using the right materials, like high quality epoxy grouts and admixtures, helps build things that last a very long time. Products like MYK Laticrete SP 100 epoxy grout are often trusted to give buildings and infrastructure a strong foundation, keeping our city safe and clean for years to come.
Metro Boss Checks on the Work Sites
The head of the Delhi Metro (DMRC), Dr. Vikas Kumar, recently went to check on the construction sites for the new Metro lines. He visited areas like Ashok Vihar and Derawal Nagar, where the new Krishna Park Extension–R.K. Ashram Marg line is being built.
His main job was to check that everyone is working hard to keep the air clean. When air pollution goes up, the city starts a big plan called GRAP (Graded Response Action Plan). Dr. Kumar wants to make sure Metro construction does not add to the dust and pollution we already face.
How DMRC is Fighting the Dust and Pollution
The DMRC team is doing many good things to help our air quality. They are focused on being great neighbors while they build:
- Spraying Water: They are spraying water often at the sites. This is the best way to keep dust from flying up into the air.
- Washing Wheels: Every construction vehicle has its wheels washed before it leaves the work site. This stops mud and dirt from getting dumped onto our roads.
- Covering Materials: All building materials, like sand and stone, are kept covered and stored safely. This prevents them from blowing away and creating dust.
- Anti-Smog Guns: They are using special machines called anti-smog guns . These machines spray a fine mist of water high into the air to catch dust particles and bring them down. The DMRC is a leader in using this technology, with about 82 anti-smog guns now working across their sites!
- Cleaning Trucks: Dr. Kumar told his team to make sure the dumpers are cleaned well. This stops building materials from falling out onto the streets as the trucks move.
More Metro Trips for Cleaner Air!
The DMRC is also fighting pollution by helping you travel better! They have added 40 extra trips to the Metro service every weekday.
Why? The goal is to encourage more people to take the Metro instead of using their personal cars. When fewer cars are on the road, there is less pollution and less traffic for everyone! If the pollution gets worse, the DMRC is ready to add up to 60 extra trips!
This is a great step. Every time you choose the Metro, you are helping to make Delhi’s air better for your family and neighbors.
We are Building a Better Delhi Together
Delhi is a great city, and we are all working together to make it even better. It is good to see that big projects like the Metro Phase IV are being built with care for our environment and our health. The DMRC is showing great effort in following the rules and fighting dust. Keep using the Metro and stay positive! We are building a cleaner, safer, and better-connected Delhi!
